This beautiful project was a house that was damaged by Alberta’s catastrophic floods last year. The entire basement was gutted and re-fit with all new materials, including stainless steel cabinetry in case of future floods.
The entire basement floor was first covered with self-leveling concrete and then an un-coupling membrane, applied before the tile, to prevent against future cracks. The 1600 sq foot floor was tiled with Ergon’s “Stone Project collection” from Stone Tile West. The bar splash was from Tierra Sol’s “H-line Pumice” subway tile.
The bathroom consisted of a large walk-in shower and 9′ ceilings, with the 24×48 Stone Project tile going on the wall, with a “cascading waterfall” look by installing the entire back wall with Icon Tile and Stone’s 1″ hexagon mosaics.
